Municipality of Valkenswaard: notifying the municipality when you move home
- Are you moving to or within the municipality of Valkenswaard? Then you must report this to the municipality of Valkenswaard.
- Do this no later than 5 days after you have moved. If you are late in reporting this, this may have consequences for, for example, rent benefit, student finance, your parking permit, municipal taxes or benefits.
- You can also report your move earlier. This can be done up to 4 weeks before the date of your move.
- Reporting a move costs nothing.
- Consent from the main occupant is not required. The main occupant will be notified of your registration. If necessary, permission can always be requested.
If you report a change of address after moving, the moving date will be considered the official date of the address change — but only if you report it within 5 days of your move.
If you report the change later, the date on which you notify the municipality will be considered the official date of the address change.
Have you reported a future move?
Then the municipality will update your address details on the date you provided. That date will be considered the official date of the address change.
Make sure to provide all the information the municipality requires.
Otherwise, your address details will not be updated.
Who can report a change of address?
- Anyone aged 16 or older is required to report their move
- Parents, guardians, or caregivers for children under 16
- Parents and their adult children may report each other’s move, provided they are moving to the same address
- Spouses or registered partners may report each other’s move, provided they are moving to the same address
- Adults may report a move on behalf of someone who has given them written authorization
- Legal guardians (curators) may report the move for individuals under guardianship
