Municipality of Arnhem: changing your gender on official documents

• You are 16 years of age or older.
• You were born in Arnhem.
• You have an expert’s certificate.

Make an online appointment with the municipality of Arnhem for the application. 

What to bring with you

• valid identification
• expert statement gender dysphoria

After the change, your current passport, identity card and driving license will no longer be valid. Apply for new identity documents at the municipality where you live.

Amendment of the registration your gender on your birth certificate is free of charge. Since November 1, 2023 you may be able to receive a fee for replacing your ID or driver's license after changing your gender registration, among other things.
