You can apply for an exemption from compulsory education as follows:

You and the school contact the school attendance officer.

Among other things, you inform them of:

• how old your child is
• why your child needs exemption from compulsory education or substitute compulsory education
• when the exemption or substitute compulsory education should start
• in case of compulsory substitute education: a support program for your child
