Municipality of Oisterwijk: applying for social assistance

• You live in the municipality of Oisterwijk
• You are 18 years or older
• You and your possible partner do not have enough money for living expenses. We look at your income and assets. As a single person you may have a maximum of €7.770,00 in assets, and as a single parent/married person you may have a maximum of €15.540,00.
• You are not entitled to social assistance benefits if you are in prison or in a detention center. Or you are a foreigner without a residence permit
• Social assistance benefits come with rights and obligations

• You apply for social assistance benefit using the Social Assistance Application form. You need DigiD for this
• You will receive an invitation for an intake interview and a list of supporting documents that you must bring with you
• You will hear from us within 8 weeks whether you are entitled to social assistance 
• If you are younger than 27 years old, in some situations you will first be given a search period of 4 weeks. You then look for training or paid work. If you have demonstrably done your best, but have not been able to find training or paid work after 4 weeks, you can submit an application after the search period.
• We will transfer the social assistance benefit no later than the 10th of the following month

Height assistance

The amount of social assistance benefit depends on your situation. The government determines the standard amounts for subsistence twice a year. These standard amounts determine the amount of the benefit. If you have no income, you will receive this amount as social assistance benefit. If you do have other income, but this is lower than the social assistance standard, the municipality will supplement this up to the standard amount.

You will find out within 8 weeks whether you will receive social assistance. You will receive social assistance from the date of the application.
