Municipality of Dronten: applying for social assistance
Are you (temporarily) unable to support yourself? Then you can apply for social assistance benefits.
You are entitled to social assistance if you meet the following conditions:
You do not have sufficient income or assets to support yourself;
You are not eligible for any other benefit.
The municipality can recover social assistance from your (ex-)partner or parent if they fail to meet their maintenance obligations. A person obligated to provide for maintenance is obligated to financially support their child under the age of 21, their (ex-)spouse, or their (ex-)registered partner. Spouses and registered partners are obligated to support each other even after a divorce. You must apply for maintenance yourself through the court. If your ex-partner refuses to request maintenance, you can contact a lawyer (via the Legal Desk) or the National Office for the Collection of Maintenance Contributions (LBIO).
You can apply for social assistance benefits via werk.nl using your DigiD. After submitting your application on werk.nl, an income consultant will contact you by phone. If you are unable to submit your application digitally, please contact an income consultant.
Are you under the age of 27? First, register as a job seeker on werk.nl. Then, contact an income consultant by phone. You can reach income consultants via the general telephone number + 31 321 388911.
The municipality must make a decision within eight weeks of receiving your application for social assistance benefits.
