Municipality of Amersfoort: applying for a second passport

You can only apply for a second passport if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

To apply for a second passport, you must meet the following conditions:

You are a Dutch citizen.
Your first passport is valid for at least another 6 months.
If you regularly travel to countries with visa requirements. You may then be unable to use your passport because it is at an embassy for a visa application.
If you are regularly traveling to countries in conflict. The stamps in your first passport can then cause problems when entering another country.

Your passport will be ready for collection from the municipality after 5 working days. You have 3 months in which to collect your new passport.

A second passport is valid for 2 years.
