Municipality of Leiden: applying for a personalised disabled parking space
Please note: you can only apply for a parking space for the disabled by registration number if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.
You pay a fee for this service. In some cases you can receive reimbursement for the placement of the parking space under the Wet maatschappelijke ondersteuning – Wmo (Social Support Act). For more information, contact the municipality.
A maximum of 8 weeks (depending on the investigation into the traffic situation). The municipality may extend this period once by 6 weeks. The parking lot will then be ready within 2 weeks.
Before a decision is made, the municipality will first investigate the situation in your area. For example, how many free parking spaces there are. The municipality cannot carry out the investigation in July and August because it is much quieter in the streets during these holiday months. You then have to wait longer for the decision.
