Municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee: applying for a personalised disabled parking space

The conditions for applying for a disabled parking space are:

You are the driver

• You are registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP) at that address for a disabled parking space at your home.
• For a disabled parking space at your workplace, you have a statement from your employer that you work there.
• The registration number of the vehicle is in your name or in the name of your housemate.
• If the license plate is in the name of a leasing company or company, you will have a statement from the license plate holder that you are the daily driver.
• You have a disabled parking card.
• You do not have your own parking space, such as a garage.

You are the passenger

• You can't just stay at your home when the driver picks up the car and parks it.
• You are always dependent on the driver's assistance for door-to-door transport.
• There are no options to get in or out in front of your home or workplace.
• You are registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP) at the same address as the driver of the car.
  The registration number of the car is in your name or in the name of the driver.
• If the license plate is in the name of a leasing company or company, you will have a statement from the license plate holder stating that the driver is the daily user of the car.
• You have a disabled parking card.
• You do not have your own parking space, such as a garage.

How to request a disabled parking space

• Request the disabled parking space from the municipality.
• Please include the registration number of your car.
• Indicate clearly where you want the parking space.

What do I have to bring along?

• Copy of your disabled parking card.
• Statement from your employer if you want the parking space at your workplace.

You can apply for a disabled parking space online. You must log in with your DigiD for this.

You will usually receive a letter within 2 weeks of applying stating whether or not you will be given the parking space. If an advisory opinion is needed, for example from the Gemeentelijke Gezondheidsdienst – GGD (Municipal Health Service) or the traffic police, you will receive a response within 8 weeks of applying.

Placing the parking space

If you are entitled to a parking space for the disabled, the municipality will contact you by telephone to determine the location in consultation with you. The municipality will place the parking space within 2 weeks.

You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. Do you subsequently disagree with the decision on the notice of objection? Then file an appeal with the court.
