Municipality of Hof van Twente: applying for a personal budget (pgb)
Please note: you can only apply for a PGB if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.
You can use a persoonsgebonden budget – PGB (personal budget) to buy care, help or support. A personal budget is possible under the Wet maatschappelijke ondersteuning - WMO 2015 (Social Support Act) and under the Jeugdwet (Youth Act).
PGB via the Wet maatschappelijke ondersteuning – WMO 2015 (Social Support Act)
Do you receive Wmo support from your municipality? And would you like to arrange this help yourself? Then you can apply for a PGB at your municipality. With a personal budget, you can purchase aids yourself, such as a mobility scooter. But a PGB can also be used to purchase services, such as household support.
PGB through the Jeugdwet (Youth Act)
If your child receives support under the Jeugdwet, you can use a PGB to arrange that help yourself as well. You can request this at the municipality.
To be eligible for a PGB, you must meet a number of requirements:
- You must draw up a PGB plan, in which you must specify what help you need.
- The care providers that you select must meet quality requirements.
- You must conclude an agreement with the care providers yourself.
- You must be able to manage your PGB yourself. For example, you must conclude a contract with the care providers yourself. You must also direct them and keep records. You can also ask a PGB representative to do this for you.
- If you buy a medical aid with a PGB, you must also submit a quotation for this to the municipality.
Payment
You do not receive the money from your PGB yourself. The municipality pays your personal budget to the Sociale Verzekeringsbank – SVB (social insurance bank). You send your care providers’ invoices to the SVB. The SVB will then pay them. You must keep the invoices for your records.
You will receive the PGB for the purchase of a medical aid yourself. For this you must first submit the invoice of the purchase to the municipality. On request, the money can also be paid to the supplier of the aid.
The PGB is a form in which the necessary support or jeugdhulp (youth care) is offered to you. The application for a PGB is part of the application for support or jeugdhulp (youth assistance).
A PGB plan is also necessary.
You can apply for a PGB once the municipality has determined that you are entitled to support and/or youth assistance. You can request this from the Healthcare team of the municipality of Hof van Twente and it must always be in writing.
There are no special costs associated with a PGB.
In many cases, a personal contribution of € 19 per month is requested for support under the Wmo 2015.
The municipality takes legal deadlines into account when deciding on an application. You will hear within 8 weeks whether you will receive a personal budget. You will be notified of this by the municipality.
You can object to the decision. This is possible on the basis of the Algemene wet bestuursrecht (General Administrative Law Act). Objections must be lodged within six weeks of the date of sending the letter. Please send a letter to the Municipal Executive in which you state why you do not agree with this decision. The address is PO Box 54, 7470 AB in Goor. Objections can also be made digitally. Further information about making an objection can be found on our website.
