Applying for a parking permit

Do you live in an area where you have to pay to park your car or other vehicle? You can apply to the municipality for a residents’ parking permit (parkeervergunning voor bewoners). If you have a residents' parking permit, you do not have to pay for parking at the parking meter or via a parking app.

A parking permit is registered to a specified vehicle registration number. If you have more than 1 car or other vehicle, you must apply for a separate parking permit for each vehicle.

This is how it works for you

Here is some information from your municipality.

Parking in a Parking Permit Zone

If you want to park in a parking permit zone, you will need a parking permit. The permit zone is intended to make it possible for specific car owners to park. If this zone is designated for you, you can apply for a permit from the municipality. Request your parking permit here if you want to park in the parking permit zone designated for you.

You can only get a permit to park in the permit zone area if you live in the area.

For a resident's permit the following applies:

  • You are registered at the municipality at an address in the parking zone area;
  • You do not have a parking space on your own premises;
  • Permits are granted according to number plate: therefore the car must be registered in your name;
  • If you have a lease car, you will need a statement from your employer or your lease contract;
  • Even if several people each with their own car are registered at that address, only one permit may be applied for.

The following applies for a permit for businesses (work or company):
