Municipality of Amstelveen: applying for a parking permit
You can apply for your residents’ parking permit online. You will need to log in with your DigiD to do so.
If you are unable to apply online, you can also apply for your residents’ parking permit at the Town Hall. Please make an appointment in advance for this by calling: +31 20 540 49 11.
To apply for a residents’ parking permit, you must meet the following conditions:
- Your vehicle registration certificate is in your name. Or, if you are leasing or renting a car, the contract is in your name.
- A shared car does not have to be registered in your name, but it does have to be registered in the name of one of the users within the car sharing declaration.
- You live in the Netherlands and are registered in the municipality where you wish to apply for the parking permit.
- If you are not registered in the municipality where you wish to apply for a parking permit, you must prove that you live and work in that municipality.
- If you move to another address in Amstelveen where paid parking also applies, the residents’ parking permit will move with you.
- If you move to another municipality or address in Amstelveen where no paid parking applies, the residents’ permit is no longer valid.
- Your vehicle must not exceed the emissions-based requirements.
- You can apply for a maximum of two parking permits for each address, and one per vehicle registration number plate.
- If you have a different vehicle (temporarily), you can change the vehicle registration number plate via the E-loket.
- A residents’ parking permit is valid for one year. After this, you can extend your permit via the E-loket. You will then issue an authorisation for direct debit. Your residents’ parking permit will then be automatically extended.
- Your DigiD.
- Copy of registration certificate.
- For a lease or company car: a driver’s declaration or contract in which the registered owner or employer declares that you are using the vehicle.
- For a shared car: a car sharing declaration, you can request this document via parkeren@amstelveen.nl.
- If you are not yet registered in Amstelveen: a rental or purchase agreement for your new address.
- For your visit to the Town Hall: you must bring your passport, driving licence or identity card with you.
You pay for a residents’ parking permit. You pay these costs when you apply. Check the municipality’s website for the current rates and conditions.
If you apply for a parking permit for your car online or at the counter, the permit is active immediately after payment. If you are applying for a parking permit for a shared car or if the car is registered in the name of a company or leasing company, it will take a maximum of 2 working days for your application to be assessed.
