Municipality of Arnhem: applying for a new passport or renewing your old one
You can apply for a Dutch passport at the counter of the municipality of Arnhem. Make an appointment for this.
Different requirements and fees apply when applying for a passport for children.
- All travel documents (passport, identity card) registered in your name, even if they are no longer valid. Invalid travel documents will be withheld from your application.
- A colour passport photo that is not older than 6 months. The passport photo must comply with the requirements for passport or identity card photos .
To apply for a passport, you have to make an appointment.

Need a passport urgently? You can schedule an appointment for an urgent request by calling 0800 1809. This cannot be done digitally.
Collecting your passport
There is no need to make an appointment to collect your passport.
Bring with you on collection:
- The pickup receipt. You will receive this receipt when you apply for your new passport.
- If you still need to hand in a travel document (passport or identity card), take it with you.
You must pick up your passport within 3 months.
You pay for your passport directly at the time of your application.

Your new passport will be ready for you after 6 working days. There is no need to make an appointment to collect your passport.

If your appointment for the urgent request is before 2pm, you can collect your passport the next working day after 11am.
