Applying for an environmental permit for an entrance and exit driveway to a provincial road

This is how it works for you

Your (future) place of residence falls under:

Here is some information from your province.

Private road connecting to a provincial road

If you are planning to construct a private entrance road leading to a provincial road, you need planning permission in the form of an ‘all-in-one permit for physical aspects’ (omgevingsvergunning). You can apply for this permit via the online permitting services desk (Omgevingsloket online).

Due to the traffic hazard, the province will only consider the request if there are no other options. Only one driveway per piece of land is allowed. For this, it will consider whether the flow of traffic, road safety, liveability and quality of the road will be unaffected.

  • Go to the online permitting services desk (Omgevingsloket online) []. Please note that this site is in Dutch only.

  • Do the permit check.

  • You will see whether you need to apply for a permit. If so, you can do this immediately online.

  • Log in with eHerkenning.

You apply for the environmental permit to construct an egress via Omgevingsloket online.

If you have applied for a permit, you will receive the decision within 8 weeks from the date we received your application. We can extend this period once only by 6 weeks.

If you have applied for a permit and you do not agree with our decision on your application, you can lodge an objection. You will need to do this within 6 weeks of the decision. If you disagree with the decision on your objection, you can lodge an appeal with the court within 6 weeks.
