Municipality of Arnhem: applying for Dutch citizenship by naturalisation
Becoming a Dutch citizen can be done through an option statement or a naturalisation request. The option statement is the easiest way. But if you do not qualify for an option, you can submit a naturalisation request to the municipality. Make an appointment for this.
You can find the conditions on the website of the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND).
If your birth certificate has not yet been registered in the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP), you must first submit this foreign certificate. Please make a separate appointment for this.
- Valid passport of country of origin.
- Valid residence permit.
- A civic integration or similar certificate.
- Naturalisation for 1 person: € 1.091
- Naturalisation together with partner: € 1.393
- Naturalisation of a child under 18 at the same time: € 161
- Application by stateless person or person with an asylum residence permit: € 811
- Application by stateless person or person with an asylum residence permit, together with partner: € 1.144
The total process from the application to the decision from the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) takes up to a year.
