Municipality of Amsterdam: applying for Dutch citizenship by naturalisation
- Valid passport.
- Valid verblijfsvergunning (residence permit) from the Netherlands.
- During the intake appointment, you will be told what other documents you need to bring to the second appointment.
If you meet the conditions, you can make an appointment for your naturalisation application.
Call 14 020, the City of Amsterdam helpline (Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 18.00).
You will receive a written confirmation of the appointment, either by post or by email.
Your first appointment is an intake interview. During this interview, you will receive information about becoming a Dutch national and we will check whether you meet the requirements. If you meet the requirements, you will make a follow-up appointment to submit the application.
