Municipality of Valkenswaard: applying for an EU parking card for people with disabilities
Please note: You can only apply for an EU parking card for people with disabilities if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.
Driver’s Card
With a driver’s card, you are allowed to drive yourself. These are the conditions:
- You have a driver’s license.
- The driver’s card is tied to you as a person and not to a license plate. Therefore, you do not need to own a vehicle.
- You cannot walk more than 100 meters with aids.
Passenger’s Card
For a passenger’s card, these are the conditions:
- You cannot drive yourself.
- You cannot walk more than 100 meters with aids.
- You always need the help of your driver. From door to door.
- The passenger’s card is in your name.
Children under 18 years old can also apply for a passenger’s card. They must meet the same conditions as adults.
To apply for a disabled parking card, you will need the following information:
- A valid identification document
- If applicable: your previous (expired) disabled parking card
- Check under ‘fees’ to see what you need to pay

Within 8 weeks after submitting your application, you will receive a notification about whether you qualify. This period may be extended if the municipality needs to seek advice from other agencies.
