Municipality of Nunspeet: applying for an EU parking card for people with disabilities

Please note: You can only apply for an EU parking card for people with disabilities if you live in the Netherlands and in the municipality where you are registered.

Driver’s card

You can drive yourself with a driver's card. These are the conditions for a driver's card:

  • you have a driving licence;
  • the driver's card is registered to you as a person, so you do not need to have your own vehicle;
  • you cannot walk more than 100 metres, even with disability aids.

Passenger’s card

These are the conditions for a passenger card:

  • you cannot drive yourself;
  • you cannot walk more than 100 metres, even with disability aids;
  • you always need your driver to help you from door to door;
  • the passenger's card is only for your personal use.

Children under the age of 18 may also be eligible for their own passenger's card. They must meet the same conditions.

A combined driver’s and passenger’s card is also available.

For the application you need:

  • Copy of a valid passport or identity card.
  • If you are applying for the driver card: copy of a valid driving licence.
  • A colour passport photo that is of a good likeness to you and is not older than 6 months.
  • If you have a motorised tricycle/quadricycle: a copy of the insurance certificate.

Application

To apply for a parking card for people with disabilities you need to contact the municipality (telephone number: +31 341 259 11). The municipality can send you an application form.

You make an appointment with the medical examiner for medical advice and you take the application form with you. With an extension of your GPK, a medical examination can be waived if the doctor has concluded in a previous application that your condition is irreversible.
