Municipality of Meerssen: applying for a disabled parking space

Do you have a disability and do you not have your own parking space? Then you can apply for a disabled parking space at the municipality. Please note: You can only apply for a parking space for the disabled if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

The conditions for applying for a disabled parking space are:

  • you are in possession of a car, microcar or disabled vehicle
  • you do not have your own parking space (for example, a driveway or garage)
  • you have a permanent walking disability
  • you have been medically examined

How to request a disabled parking space:

  • You apply for a disabled parking space from the municipality where you live.
  • You need:
    • a sketch of the desired parking space.
    • a copy of your disabled parking card (driver card)

The municipality does not charge for providing a disabled parking space.

You will receive an answer from the municipality within 2 to 3 months.

You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. Do you subsequently disagree with the decision on the notice of objection? Then file an appeal with the court.
