Municipality of Groningen: applying for a disabled parking space

You must comply with these rules if you want to apply for a handicapped parking space.

Person

• The license plate of the car is in your name. Or in the name of a roommate.
• You live at the address for which you are applying for the parking space.
• Your driver's license is still valid for at least 6 months.
• Your disabled driver's parking permit is still valid for at least 6 months.

Location

• You do not have your own parking space at your home. For example, a driveway, garage with driveway, a garage box or a private parking space on your own property.
• There are already parking spaces on your street, but they are usually occupied.
• There is no garage or parking lot near your apartment or nursing home. 
• You do not live in a car-free zone.

More conditions

• Do you live in an area with paid parking? If so, you also need a resident parking permit.
• Do you have a leased or company car? If so, please include a statement from your employer.
• Do you want a parking space near your work? Then your employer must request this from us.
