Were you born in the Netherlands? Do you live in the Netherlands and have a DigiD? If so, you can apply for your birth certificate online. You can also use your DigiD to apply for your birth certificate from outside the Netherlands.

Applying from outside the Netherlands

Don't you have a DigiD? Request the birth certificate by a contact form. Include a copy of your valid ID. State the year of birth, your name, address and for which you need the certificate.

A birth certificate costs: € 14.30.

Applying in the Netherlands

You will receive the birth certificate by post.

Applying from outside the Netherlands

The municipality will send the birth certificate to your address outside the Netherlands. The time taken by the postal service varies from country to country.
