Were you born in the Netherlands? Do you live in the Netherlands and have a DigiD? If so, you can apply for your birth certificate online. You can also use your DigiD to apply for your birth certificate from outside the Netherlands.

Applying at the service desk

You can apply for your birth certificate at the service desk of your municipality . Take a valid identity document with you.

Make an appointment (in Dutch)

A birth certificate costs € 16,60.

After applying online, your extract will be sent within a few working days to the address where you are registered according to the Personal Records Database.

Do you request the extract at the counter of the municipal office? Then you can, in most cases, take your extract with you immediately.
