Do you live in the Netherlands and have a DigiD? Then you can request your birth certificate online. You can also apply for your birth certificate from abroad using your DigiD. You pay directly with iDEAL. We try to process your application within 5 working days.

Applying in writing

You can also apply for a birth certificate in writing.

• State for whom the certificate is intended
• State the date of birth
• Describe why you need the certificate
• State whether you want a Dutch or multilingual international copy
• Enclose a copy of your proof of identity
• State your address for sending the deed and bill
