Were you born in the Netherlands? Do you live in the Netherlands and have a DigiD? If so, you can apply for your birth certificate online. Applying at the service desk

You can apply for your birth certificate at the service desk of your municipality [contactgegevens]. Take a valid identity document with you. Make an appointment via the website of the municipality of Eersel.

Applying from outside the Netherlands

No DigiD? You can also authorise someone to apply for the birth certificate for you at the service desk.

Alternatively, you can apply for your birth certificate by post:

• Send a letter to the civil affairs department of the municipality of Eersel.
• In the letter, state your year of birth, name, address and what you need the certificate for.
• Sign the letter. Attach a copy of your valid identity document.

Applying in the Netherlands

You will receive the birth certificate by post after no more than 5 working days.

Applying from outside the Netherlands

The municipality will send the birth certificate to your address outside the Netherlands. The time taken by the postal service varies from country to country.
