Contact us to make an appointment. You can apply for your birth certificate at the service desk of your municipality. Take a valid identity document with you.

Applying from outside the Netherlands

No DigiD? You can also authorise someone to apply for the birth certificate for you at the service desk.

Applying in the Netherlands

You will receive the birth certificate by post after about 3 working days.

Applying from outside the Netherlands

The municipality will send the birth certificate to your address outside the Netherlands. The time taken by the postal service varies from country to country.
