Were you born in the Netherlands? Do you live in the Netherlands and have a DigiD? If so, you can apply for your birth certificate online. You can also use your DigiD to apply for your birth certificate from outside the Netherlands.

Applying from outside the Netherlands

No DigiD? You can also authorise someone to apply for the birth certificate for you at the service desk.

To do this, fill in an authorization form. The person who authorized you must also bring a copy of your ID to City Hall. The authorization may not be older than 3 months.

A birth certificate costs: € 15,10.

Applying in the Netherlands

You will receive the birth certificate within a few working days.
