Are you not married or do you not have a registered partnership and is your partner pregnant? Then you can acknowledge the child before birth. You can do the recognition in any municipality in the Netherlands. This is called 'acknowledging parenthood of your child'. You can also acknowledge the child if you are not the biological parent. By recognizing the child, you become the legal father or co-mother.
